So I guess maybe NMM is remembering previous installation choices? but I wonder why it didn't do this before. so I just tried installing immerisave citizens AI overhaul (had it in the previous skyrim iteration on the new comp.) and it picked the right version it seems based on the ESP and BSA sizes. The times I've reinstalled NMM it did - but I also made a copy of the Mod folder, just in case. 'if I just reinstall NMM, that won't screw up the mods I already have installed and it'll just detect those already installed mods when I start it up, right?' I know it's not a corrupted download since in the previous iteration of my skyrim install on the new computer, I used the same files and the fomods worked fine. Unfortunately, at this point, I'm just sort of flailing alway, as I've never had to really deal with a persistent problem of this nature.

Another possiblilty si that NMM is just not funtioning correctly - and maybe needs to be reinstalled. I get the feeling that you might have been thinking along those lines as well.
